Product: PACE Act Preserves Small Group Definition
On October 7th, 2015, President Obama signed H.R. 1624, the Protecting Affordable Coverage for Employees Act (PACE Act). Prior to its passage, federal law would have increased the definition of small group up to 100 employees beginning in 2016. Instead, Wisconsin is allowed to maintain its definition of a small employer at up to 50 employees, and Wisconsin law is no longer preempted by the ACA.
The passage of the PACE Act helps avoid any confusion about how small group is defined in the dental marketplace and also between the dental and medical insurance marketplaces. With flexibility at the state level, we can ensure better dental plan choices for constituents in the small group market. For Delta Dental of Wisconsin this means business as usual.
