Business Process Improvement Manager

The Business Process Improvement Manager is responsible for shaping, developing, implementing, and maintaining a continuous business process and quality improvement program which will support Delta Dental of Wisconsin’s strategic plan.  This position will provide training and on-going support for Delta Dental of Wisconsin staff at all levels of the organization on the application of Lean principles.  This position will sustain a structure of continuous process and quality enhancement by facilitating cross-organizational improvement projects. This position will focus on keeping the workforce engaged in continuous improvement processes that lead to increased workforce efficiency and reduction of waste by the use of Lean tools and methodologies.


  • Train, coach, and support the implementation of Lean tools, concepts and training methods across the business
  • Facilitate teams in continuous improvement events
  • Lead the organization to ensure continuous improvement projects are being completed successfully by using Lean methodologies and principles that are aimed at reducing costs, increasing efficiency, increasing customer satisfaction, and improving financial performance
  • Establish a complete documentation system to capture operational, financial, and customer interaction improvements realized
  • Provide full reporting at established intervals of Lean events planned, started, in progress, and completed; reporting to include outcomes of completed projects
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement Lean program software application tools
  • Create an efficient, effective, and dependable set of processes for the elimination of waste in all areas of the company
  • Actively pursue continuous improvement strategies aimed at reducing costs, increasing customer satisfaction, improving financial performance, and increasing efficiency
  • Ensure that teams are using structured problem solving methods to resolve issues through proven lean techniques
  • Work with process owners to create and improve organization’s metrics and goals
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Personal Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role with Lean Methodology
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hands-on facilitation of continuous improvement events
  • Six Sigma Black belt preferred
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to coach, reinforce learning, and deliver high priority process improvement results
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments effectively
  • Communicate effectively across multiple levels of business
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with others
  • Computer skills, including intermediate MS Office Suite applications with advanced Excel and Power Point skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components
  • Ability to operate general office equipment

Work Conditions

  • Work hours average 40-45 per week with occasional nights and weekends to meet project deadlines
  • General office working conditions which may require sitting for extended periods of time
  • Limited overnight travel required

Hyland OnBase System Administrator

The OnBase Administrator is responsible for day-to-day application administration and maintenance, as well as creation of the roadmap for future growth of the OnBase System within the organization. The OnBase Administrator will both maintain existing OnBase solutions and continually refine the ability to recognize when and how solutions should evolve to meet the needs of the business. The OnBase Administrator will also serve as the point of contact for all integration of the application with the business and coordinate support with Information Technology. This position will coordinate with Information Technology and outside vendors to integrate OnBase with other business systems when necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the coordinator and primary administrator of a Hyland OnBase Enterprise Content Management System; work involves planning, design, implementation, support and maintenance
  • Create roadmap and plan for future growth of OnBase within the organization
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve OnBase ECM issues
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of OnBase administration tasks including security, creating profiles, roles, users, and managing errors
  • Maintain and support the operation of OnBase solutions
  • Facilitate changes to the application utilizing OnBase Configurator
  • Assist with testing and migration of OnBase changes on development, user acceptance testing and production environments
  • Plan for and test software updates, defects, and configuration changes
  • Recommend, implement, test, deploy and train end users on configuration improvements; conduct product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with users to identify best practices and opportunities to streamline procedures; execute those ideas from start to finish
  • Develop and maintain training materials and documentation for users, as well as train new users and assure adoption of best practices by existing users. Continuously work to increase adoption rates and establish consistency across users
  • Respond to questions regarding product capabilities
  • Work with Hyland Software and/or selected vendors for technical support as needed.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Qualified candidates for this position will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum three years of OnBase system administration experience using OnBase tools, such as Unity Client
  • OnBase Certified System Administrator certification (OCSA) preferred or willingness to obtain
  • OnBase Certified Workflow Administrator certification (OCWA) preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple assignments effectively without compromising accuracy
  • Communicate effectively across multiple levels of business
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with others
  • Computer skills, including intermediate MS Office Suite applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and organize technical or project requirements for implementation of large projects
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Self-motivated and directed; able to take initiative with projects
